About Me
Butter Me Up is a cottage licensed home bakery owned and operated by Lindsey Dean in the Walla Walla Valley. Since its establishment in 2017, my goal has and always will be to create exquisite bespoke cakes that taste delicious and leave lasting memories after the cake is devoured.
My passion for baked goods runs deep. I am told that I inherited my love for baking from my great grandmother, who was famous for her pies and candy brittles. Being self-taught every step of the way, I’ve gained quite a few tips, perfected other people’s recipes, and have overcome my fair share of baking failures. Each cake gives me an opportunity to create something unique for the event at which it will be served. Cake, after all, is my medium, how I express my art and my love. No matter the occasion, every ounce of my time and care go into making every individual cake to ensure that I create the cake of your dreams. I strongly believe that any day can be made better with a slice of cake. With the exception of a few topping choices (i.e., peanut butter cups or circus animal cookies) all items are made from scratch in small batches in my kitchen. Everything is carefully designed and flavored to suit your preferences, using top-quality ingredients. When possible, I strive to highlight one of my favorite things I adore most about the Walla Walla Valley; local farms. This includes Small’s Family Farm and Thiessenranch, just to name a few.
By day, I work with children who need some extra support and guidance within the Walla Walla Public School District. At night, I liberally practice the “everything in moderation” motto by cooking for my family and friends with a glass of Walla Walla Valley wine in hand.
I aspire to create cakes that make celebrations complete. I believe in eating a high quality diet, exercising rigorously and figuring out what lights me on fire and chasing it. Dessert after all is the best part.
